Mary Katherine Stump, '07, Walsh School of Foreign Service

Georgetown Alumn Mary Katherine Stump (SFS, '07), a Culture and Politics major with an emphasis in journalism (she took Media Techniques and Investigative Reporting at Georgetown, and worked for The Georgetown Voice during her four years here) has taken her print skills to the web. Currently employed by The HealthCentral Network, Inc., a web health company based Rosslyn, Mary Katherine helped to build HealthCare '08 ( www.healthcare08central.com), a web tool that helps you compare your views on health care to those of the '08 presidential candidates.

Features of the site include animated "PoliGraphs" that plot candidates' platforms on major health care issues and short quizzes that allow users to immediately see how their views match up with candidates' on each issue. The site also offers information about key health care issues, explaining the controversy behind stem cell research and the nuances of universal health care.

For those of you who haven't thought much about healthcare reform (Mary Katherine admits she hadn't before taking this job), make sure you check out this site. It's a great way to learn more about one the most important issues in this year's election.
