At the end of each academic school year, Georgetown’s Journalism Program recognizes the best student journalism through the Edward B. Bunn Awards for Journalistic Excellence.
Georgetown campus publications are invited to submit their best News, Features, Opinion, and Arts and Culture writing, along with photography and multimedia work. A panel of journalism professors and distinguished journalists chooses the top three pieces in each category. On April 28, Georgetown’s Journalism Program gathered to recognize that work.
The event also recognized the winner of the Georgetown Journalism Program Capstone Prize, given to the senior who produced the most impressive reporting package for the minor’s capstone class. The four winners of the Steve Pisinski scholarships, given to relieve the financial burden of unpaid or underpaid journalism internships, were also honored.

2025 Capstone Prize

2025 Steve Pisinski scholarships
This scholarship was awarded to four Georgetown students to relieve the burden of unpaid or underpaid journalism internships for summer 2025. The funds were raised by The Georgetown Voice, with members of Georgetown’s journalism faculty and former professional journalists deciding the awardees.
The winners are Grace Copps, Elaine Clarke, Alaena Hunt, and Shana Struski.
