At the end of each academic year, Georgetown’s Journalism Program recognizes outstanding student journalism through the Edward B. Bunn Awards for Journalistic Excellence.
Georgetown campus publications are invited to submit their best news, features, opinion and arts & culture writing, as well as top photography and multimedia work. A panel of journalism professors and distinguished journalists chose the top three pieces in each category and on April 20 community members gathered to recognize that work.
The event also recognized the winner of the Georgetown Journalism Program Capstone Prize, awarded to the seniors who produced the most impressive reporting package for the minor’s capstone class. The four winners of the Steve Pisinski scholarship, meant to relieve the financial burden of unpaid or underpaid journalism internships, were also honored.
