In honor of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the Georgetown University Library will host a showing of the award-winning documentary Rebirth, which tracks the physical transformation of Ground Zero and the healing journey of five people directly impacted by the attacks. The screening, which is slated for Sept 17. at 3:00 p.m. will be followed by a panel discussion with journalist Peter Bergen.
Georgetown’s Journalism Program in the College of Arts & Sciences marked Press Freedom Week with a pair of events in April 2026 that brought together journalists, advocates and media experts to Georgetown’s Hilltop campus for conversations on covering the White House and the state of press freedom around the world.

Pulitzer Prize-winning reporters Carol Leonnig and GU alum Aaron C. Davis spoke to a packed crowd on Nov. 17, 2025, in Riggs Library about their new book Injustice: How Politics and Fear Vanquished America’s Justice Department. Their book exposes not only the Trump administration’s efforts to undermine the department at every turn but also how delays in investigating Trump’s effort to overturn the will of voters under Attorney General Merrick Garland helped prevent the country from holding Trump accountable and enabled his return to power.
Jacob Livesay, reporter at Inside Washington Publishers; Catherine Moran, editor at Informa Tech Target; and Cady Stanton, Capitol Hill reporter at Tax Notes, shared their journalism job experiences on March 11, 2024 at the Journalism Program’s Small Outlets, Big Impact career discussion. Paul Albergo, alum and adjunct professor, moderated the program.
